Rushlight Events present the next Rushlight Innovation Capital Network (RICN) meeting with the second network meeting for cleantech investors on Monday 11 June at Davy's of Holborn, formerly Bunghole, 57 High Holborn, London WC1V 6DT, a fitting successor to the former Davy's wine bar where the Clean Capital Champagnebox events used to be held, the Chopper Lump.

Clean Capital, the London-based corporate finance advisers, ran the highly successful Clean Capital Champagne Box events, but who now continue their business development activity in a different way.  The Clean Innovation Capital Network is a continuation of their Champagne Box events.

The Cleantech stream of the RICN, the Clean Innovation Capital Network, is being held in association with Cleantech Investor Magazine.

The evening will provide an excellent networking opportunity in convivial surroundings, interrupted only by a series of short presentations (5 minutes) by companies looking to raise their profile with the investor community with a view to attracting new funds in the short to medium term.

Investors can register and attend for FREE.  There is a small fee for companies and advisers of £20 plus VAT and £30 plus VAT, respectively.  Companies wishing to pitch at the event are asked to contact Clive Hall on cjh@eventuremedia.co.uk.  For sponsorship opportunities and requests for other participation, please contact Clive as above.

Presenting companies at the next CICN on 11 June

Based at the world class Hethel Engineering Centre in the United Kingdom, and building upon research undertaken at the nearby University of East Anglia, Syrinix is focussed on the provision of technology-driven remotely operated products for the identification and monitoring of bursts, leaks and pressure transients on pipelines.  Syrinix's primary product, "TrunkMinder", has a growing reputation among water companies, infrastructure managers and industry regulators alike for its role in the optimised management of critical water pipelines.  Already being extensively deployed across London by Thames Water, Syrinix's TrunkMinder provides 24/7/365 fully automated, highly sensitive leak detection, leak location and burst alerts for critical water pipelines in the utility, irrigation, mining and industrial sectors.  With data feeds and automated alerts directly to utility control centres and individuals, and graphically presented real time information accessible via web interfaces for use on site, TrunkMinder acts as an "electronic ear" providing real-time pressure and flow information as well as surveillance and detection information that is significantly superior to simple burst alerts whilst extending the short term/snapshot view of physical surveys to a 24/7/365 automated basis.   With that enhanced functionality, TrunkMinder users' pipeline networks can be managed better, with asset life extended, water losses can be substantially reduced and preventative, and often unnecessary, pipeline maintenance and repair costs can be reduced.  With its detailed data aggregation, TrunkMinder can also be used to support compliance and regulatory submissions and negotiations.

BACTEST is a Cambridge, UK based company that has developed a technology platform CYTOMAIA, a bacterial respirometer which is used to incubate bacteria and detect and measure biological activity and contamination in liquid in labs, bottling lines, (rapid release), water and waste water. BACTEST is deploying CYTOMAIA in portable and in-situ devices that a removes the need to send samples to a lab to be tested by technicians. BACTEST has won £100k TSB grant to develop an in-situ device to monitor biological activity in waste water in order to reduce costly aeration of activated sludge, thus reducing carbon footprint.
